STUDENT MOBILITY DASHBOARD

Project Collaborators
Project Overview
This interactive dashboard prototype was developed for the Baltic Hackathon 2024 Base Camp, addressing the challenge of improving student mobility in the Baltic Sea Region. Our dashboard solution allows students to view the possible universities they could attend and use a variety of filters to find the ones that match their unique priorities from climate preferences like winter temperatures to practical considerations such as cost of living.
Technical Implementation
Built with Streamlit for rapid prototyping and interactive data visualization, the dashboard features a user-friendly interface that allows students to:
- Filter universities by multiple criteria including location, climate, and academic ranking
- Compare institutions side-by-side based on selected preferences
- Access detailed information about each university's offerings from the institution and the student perspective.
Dashboard Demonstration
The video below demonstrates the dashboard's functionality and user interface showcasing the potential of the filtering system and detailed institution view.
Future Development
While the current prototype has limited functionality with primarily Linnaeus University implemented, we envision several potential enhancements for future development:
- Integration of a language model to generate personalized university descriptions based on selected filters
- Expansion of the database to include all major universities not just limited to the Baltic Sea Region
- Addition of student reviews and satisfaction metrics
- Implementation of a recommendation system based on student preferences and academic background
- Multi-language support to serve international students better
